I put together a few videos for the VMAX Plugin. The first one here steps through installing the plugin in the vRealize Orchestrator Control Center. Be sure the service for this is started before attempting since by default it is disabled.
The second video demonstrates how to add a new vCenter to vRO and then add a Unisphere for VMAX REST API access point. In a typical vRO/vRA environment at least one vCenter is already configured so adding another may be unnecessary; however adding the Unisphere for VMAX instance is absolutely necessary to use the VMAX Plugin.
The final video includes 3 workflows strung together showing the VMware integration with VMAX. First, the plugin creates a device and datastore, next it uses SnapVX to take a snapshot of the device underlying the datastore, and finally that snapshot is presented to the same vCenter where VMware automatically renames it so both datastores can co-exist.
Next post I’ll demonstrate vRealize Automation with the VMAX Plugin.
