Only 3 days ago I wrote about VMware’s new vSphere 6.7 release and cautioned that the current VSI release did not support it but a release was on the way…and today it has arrived. VSI 7.3.3. is now available for download.
Just a couple things to know about this release.
First, the release will supplant the VSI 7.3 release on the download website as you can see above. This will avoid the confusion of having 2 downloads called 7.3. When you download the OVA it will be named “emc_solutions_integration_service_v733.ova” to differentiate from the original 7.3 release. If you already have VSI 7.3 installed, you will still need to download the VSI 7.3.3 release and go through the normal process of an upgrade as if you were going from say 7.2 to 7.3. We don’t have a separate hot fix for users at 7.3. Everyone uses the same OVA.
Second, to avoid the issue with VSI 7.3 and vSphere 6.7, you can either upgrade VSI 7.3 to 7.3.3 before upgrading to 6.7, or you can remove VSI, upgrade, then install the new version. VSI 7.3.3 still supports vSphere 6.5 of course so the path to take to avoid the problem is up to you.
Other than fixing support for vSphere 6.7, there are no other features in VSI 7.3.3.
