A new release of Dell EMC ESA is now available for download. Software and documentation can be found here. This release supports the newest platforms (Dell EMC and VMware) and fixes a couple bugs, one of which impacts the PowerMax. Here is the excerpt from the Release Notes:
The new support for Dell EMC is for the PowerMaxOS 5978.444.444 with Unisphere for PowerMax 9.1. This was recently released. Remember Unisphere for PowerMax is backward compatible, so you can use version 9.1 even if you don’t upgrade the PowerMaxOS.
For VMware, we now support vRealize Operations 8.0. The upgrade for the appliance can be done through a downloadable .pak file, just like ESA. Mine did not take long.
The fixed problem is for some SRP capacity metrics. The previous formula used for the metrics was not always accurate, so this was changed. Here is an example of the metrics in ESA:
I’d recommend at least upgrading your ESA version (if not vROps) to obtain these fixed SRP metrics.
